Forgewood community centre and Forgewood housing co-op received a visit from Mark Griffin MSP and Councillor Ayesha Khan on Thursday 7 August 2025.
Mark is Labour's spokesperson for Local Government and Housing in the Scottish Parliament. He covers Central Scotland but is also in the process of visiting as many registered social landlords as possible in his capacity as shadow housing minister. Ayesha Khan was elected as a Councillor for North Lanarkshire in the 2022 elections and represents Ward 18 Motherwell North.
While at the centre, they visited Carers Together who operate from the centre and provide Carer Support Services and Resources. They then met with Paul Lennon (Director) and Richard Bolton (Senior community development officer) from the co-op and were delighted to see the outstanding work going on in the community and wider area by Carers Together and our Community Development team. They were also impressed with the work being done by Forgewood Housing Co-op and recognised the effort and quality of work put in by all. Here’s a short video from Mark and Ayesha on their visit.
