Forgewood Housing Co-operative Limited was formed in 1994 and currently own and manage 215 homes in the new Forgewood area of Motherwell.

Forgewood Housing Co-operative is registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, a Registered Scottish Charity and also a property factor in Scotland. It is also a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) registered with the Scottish Housing Regulator and in accordance with the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001.
The Co-operative have operated a unique staff sharing arrangement for over twenty years with Garrion Peoples Housing Co-operative.
Both Co-operatives are independent in their own right and enjoy an excellent reputation as social housing providers in their areas of operation.
This arrangement has proven to be very successful for the operations of the Co-operatives and also to subsidise costs for both organisations.
